FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most criminal representations are flat fee representations based upon the level of the charge, complexity of the case, and criminal history of the client. Generally--the more serious the charge, the higher the fee. Minor traffic representations can have fees as low as $600, but high level felonies are obviously far more expensive. Estate Planning representations are likewise typically flat fee depending on the complexity of the matter. Probate Litigation / Will Contest representations can either be hourly at $275/hour or on a contingent fee basis depending on the specific nature of the representation.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I provide a free 60 minute initial consultation. I listen to the legal issue, ask relevant questions regarding what occurred, explain the legal process the potential client is embarking on, answer questions, and, if it is a good fit for both the potential client and my practice, discuss the business aspects of hiring me as their attorney on the case.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. from Penn State University with major in Political Science and minors in both Economics and Religious Studies. I have a M.S.Ed. in Secondary Education from Duquesne University. And I have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Denver. I am also a highly trained trial attorney that has competed nationally in numerous trial and negotiations competitions. I have also undergone hundreds of hours of additional training in various subjects relating to criminal law, estate planning, and probate litigation.
