Introduction: I'm a professional and experienced knitting and crochet teacher. I teach knitting and crocheting at a San Francisco yarn store, but am looking to spread the skill in the East Bay. I've been crocheting since I was 4, and I've been knitting for over 10 years - I've even won Best In Show at a county fair!
It's such a great way to relax, but it can be difficult to learn - I love it when people "get it" and become comfortable with their abilities.

I was scared learning how to knit. I had tried before with no success but Rachel was so patient and a great teacher.

Rachel was super patient and encouraging. My mom was a whiz at knitting and I've always wanted to learn, The bad part was that I've got chubby fingers, and I'm a bit of a spaz, But Rachel stuck with it and helped me find a groove that works. On top of that - the girl can knit her butt off!

Rachel was wonderful! Her knitting knowledge is unbelievable and her capability to actually teach me was amazing! She is extremely patient....and now I have a cute new hat!
