We had hired two men driving down the street with a truck bed full of mulch to renew & refresh our flowerbeds. As you see in the "Before" pictures the partial damage they caused, due to their lack of knowledge about anything landscape oriented, except loading their truck up with mulch and going around our subdivision selling 3 wheelbarrows full of mulch for $85 each. They did not know what they were doing, we realized that after about a hour when we came out side to check on these guys. Come to find out they had zero ideas about what they were trying to accomplish & they job they started had to have been a downer for the crew with Hamilton's Outdoor Designs, LLC. Robert J Hamilton and his crew arrived 15 minutes prior to the time he said they would be at my house to start the job. The previous person or fly by night company left everything looking like a disaster had hit our front yard. As soon has Hamilton's crew got on the job site the immediately got to work. After removing all the scattered landscape fabric and gathering all the flowerbed border blocks they stacked them nice & neat so they would be out of the way. Once all the debris and trash was removed from out of the flowerbeds the crew took the 20" Rear Tine Tiller and stirred up the existing soil. Once Robert Hamilton & his crew got it all tilled up then came the hardest part of the entire job; and that was removing (5 qty) 25 year old Holly Bush stumps. First they tried digging them out with no success. Next they rented a stump grinder for the day, but it would not breakup hot butter. So step three the crew took a reciprocating saw with a pruning blade and dug around the base until the root system was seen by the naked eye. After digging and using a saw the 100lb + roots were still dug so deep into the ground that it only left one solution to their problem. Robert went back to HomeDepot for a 30' tow-chain. Once Robert and his crew had the chain they had figured out the best system to pull those huge heavy stumps out of the ground and to the curb for trash pick-up. First they took a sharpshooter and got deep enough to expose the roots, then they took the reciprocating saw and cut all the roots that were visible, after each stump was exposed with most of the roots cut , Robert took his 30' tow chain and tied it under and around the Holly Bush stumps while hooking the other end of the tow chain to his GMC Sierra 1500 4x4. Robert then left plenty of slack in the chain, so his brand new 2017 truck backed up a little more then he threw in it 4x4 mode and pulled all five 100lb + stumps out of the ground with ease. That took the crew close to 6 hours to remove all the stumps. Now that they hard part was finished came the exciting part for my wife and I. They put down 3 yards of fresh garden mix soil, then laid landscape fabric down to keep grass & weeds out of the beds, but allowing water to flow through the fabric so it would reach the roots of the new trees and shrubs. After everything was planted they then installed a drainage system off all the down spouts coming off our gutters, so water would not build up and wash away the 3 yards of fresh mulch they put down. I not only rate them with 5 starts, but I will definitely be using Hamilton's Outdoor Designs LLC for future projects; such as pouring me a 550 sq.ft stained concrete patio. I would also recommend them to all my family, friends, and coworkers. They did not call the job finished until my wife and I looked everything over and told them how pleased we are with their work. That is saying a lot about how much they care about the customer's satisfaction. Thank you, John Buolamwini

Hamilton's Outdoor Designs, LLC & Robert Hamilton Jr contacted me almost as soon as I put in my landscape request. He sat up an appointment for that day, since I was in a time crunch to get my project started and finished before we leave to go out of town. Not only were they prompt for our appointment, but Mr. Hamilton came prepared. He did not try to pitch me his ideas until after he had asked me what I had envisioned for my front and back yard. After I gave him my inexperienced design, he came back with some of his own and they were exactly what I wanted to portray to him, but lacked the experience or knowledge to do so. I was blown away with their expertise and suggestions. What I had envisioned was nothing to what came to fruition when Hamilton's Outdoor Designs had finished my job. Everyone employed for Mr. Hamilton, especially including him, were very professional, meticulous, detailed with their work, yet they were also very down to earth, honest and reliable. I have to give them not only 5 starts for the designs, but the unique and custom service I was given. Hamilton's Outdoor Designs, LLC and their employees were honest even if I was not going to like what was being explained to me, but they found ways to flip my views and what I had envisioned and I was extremely glad I let the professionals pitch the ideas and bring them to fruition. Now I will have the "Yard of the Month" all summer. No one has anything constructed like the Arkansas Field Stone flowerbed borders that come close to the custom unique quality of work the crew did. If you don't go with Hamilton's Outdoor Designs, LLC then you will probably not be as close to blown away as I was with the finished project.. 5 Stars - for craftsmanship 5 Stars - for finishing the job within our timeline 5 Stars - for the entire crew for going above and beyond to make my yard look better than anyone's in my neighborhood. Thank you 10x over! Sincerely, Bob H.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After making initial contact with our customer via Thumbtack, we like to set up a time that is convenient for the customer to come take a look at the project in person. This gives us the opportunity to hear the homeowners ideas and what they have envisioned then we will offer some insight to make their ideas and dreams come to fruition.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My father got me started in this line of work when I was a teen-ager. After creating projects for myself and family members over the years I finally decided I needed a change in careers. Since this comes naturally this is the change I decided to make in my career.
