Introduction: I was born and raised in the Southwestern Greater Metro Detroit area and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Michigan in 2003. After graduating from U of M, I went to work for a Southeastern Michigan timber frame company designing and coordinating high-energy-efficient/sustainable residential projects in a wide variety scales, from large high-end luxury fully timber framed homes down to small cottages and additions. During my 11 years at the timber frame company, I designed over 100 projects and built up a vast knowledge of timber framing practices, along with sustainable building materials and design methodologies. In 2014, I created JEL DesignWorks with the mission of designing beautiful and welcoming homes with comfortable and enjoyable spaces both inside and outside of your home where you live your everyday life. With my experience and ability to design, detail, and coordinate all types and sizes of residential projects, even the most complex structures, site conditions, and ideas can become the reality you are looking for.
