We had an awesome experience with Mike of Umberger Contracting. He was very responsive, punctual and professional. He did quality work on our window screens. While other contractors were willing to do the work, they were not willing to think outside the box and use materials that were not the norm per our request. Mike and team did a fantastic job today. I requested for a junk removal service initially. When I spoke to Mike over the phone, I explained to him what other thing I wanted to get done to see if his team could offer me a one stop shop. Mike was able to give me a quote rightaway without hesitant. Mike was extremely well communicated on pricing, arrival time and estimated time for completion. We maintain communication prior to the day of the job and I was impress with how responsive and polite Mike was. I took pictures of the stuff I had and he was really confident that him and his team can do all of it in one trip. My husband and I was skeptic at first but we decided to give Mike and his team a try. We want to respect our contractor’s time as well as our time. We already did all the initial work and move our stuff to the garage and front door, making it easy for just to lift everything into the trunk. Mike didn’t ask us to, but we just renovated our floors and re-painted our walls so we didn’t want the moving of stuff up and down the stairs to stratch any of our new flooring and walls. Upon arrival, the team got to work right-away. The inspection of the junk was about 5 minutes, then they just started breaking the furnitures into smaller, packable pieces for the truck. I didn’t even know they can do that. The team load the junk in our entire garage, the mattresses, and finished the caulking service I asked for initially in an hour and half. Total trip for moving our mattresses to another location and loading the truck full of junk takes about 3 hours. That was pretty impressive. They were all included in the price quoted upfront. Note that I specifically described what I wanted done and distance travel prior to the day of the job. I’ve used many movers and haulers in the past and I wasn’t happy with the results. This was why I always try to look for a better team that I could trust. Thanks to Mike and his team, now we know who to call for our future projects. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to use Mike because we discovered that the security doors I purchased are too large for my door frames, which are non-standard sizes. However, I was very impressed by his professionalism and willingness to try and figure a way to make the doors work. His prices also seemed very reasonable compared to other quotes I received. I also like to hand draw “blueprints” for clients (if the job allows) to see if it’s what the want before moving forward.
