Introduction: Our system of tutoring is personalized to each student, focusing on one-to-one tutoring that helps with immediate academic issues, but also focuses on deeper issues that may be holding the student back. We identifying the gaps in certain areas of learning and create a lesson plan specifically aimed at filling those gaps using our core curriculum and supplemental materials to help facilitate a student’s understanding of the missing concepts through one-to-one tutoring. As the tutoring goes on, the lesson plans adapt to the student’s acquisition of academic concepts, growing and expanding as the student does too. The program adapts and assesses in real time, gauging the student’s abilities through the use of interactive technology: audio, text, and multimedia images to keep the student engaged throughout the process. Our system is a blend of core concepts and supplemental materials that correlate with the student’s homework, test preparation, and more long-term subject readiness for continued success as well as teaching critical thinking, organizational, and study skills. Being a tutor and mentor for a student is an unbelievably rewarding experience. Not only do you pass along knowledge to those that need it, but we also strive to instill learning habits that will stay with the student the rest of their lives, leading to better and stronger academic success.

My son was struggling in school and I knew that I needed a tutor. I started to call around to other tutoring companies and I was very disappointed with what I was finding. All they were offering was just to sit by my son and help him do his homework. I knew he needed much more than just homework help. He needed someone to help him figure out what he didn't understand in school and explain the concepts to him in a way that he could really understand. That is what Kingsfield Tutors did! First, they did a free assessment that identified exactly what his skills gaps were and then created a customize curriculum that taught him those things he needed. The results have been amazing! The thing I like about Kingsfield Tutors is they do more than just homework help. Our granddaughter was struggling in school. We contacted Kingsfield and a tutor met with us and our granddaughter and did an assessment. The assessment identified some math skills that were lacking, which is why our granddaughter was struggling. A lesson plan was prepared and then the tutoring began. Not only was the current homework assignments explained but the areas where there was a lack of understanding were covered. It wasn’t long before there as a change in attitude and grades. Also, it didn’t hurt that the tutor was great.

My sons confidence as well as understanding in math has improved tremendously. His tutor works at his learning pace which has been essential to his understanding of the material. My son has always felt confident in math but seemed to get bogged down by the small details and mistakes. He really wants to be an engineer. Kingsfield came in and gave a free assessment, which broke down his problem areas and how they related to the majority of his mistakes. As part of his math program, they also worked on his study skills, such as effective note-taking. I saw my son's confidence and enjoyment for school change in just the first few sessions. Over the course of his program, he told me he learned more from his tutoring sessions that he did in his high school math classes.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we would provide a free personalized assessment to find and repair any knowledge gaps so that we can make sure the student is on the path to educational success. We then create a lesson plan specifically aimed at filling those gaps using our core curriculum and supplemental materials to help facilitate a student’s understanding of the missing concepts through one-to-one tutoring. As the tutoring goes on, the lesson plans adapt to the student’s acquisition of academic concepts, growing and expanding as the student does too. Each math, science, and reading tutor continually checks in on student successes and reports back to the parents, engaging them in the tutoring process. Our tutors don’t just remain tutors to their students. Instead, they become more like their academic coaches and mentors, trying to teach and develop proper study skills and habits within the student while also helping them navigate themselves toward academic success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Kingsfield tutors are extensively trained on the Kingsfield Tutor model and the best techniques for administering our exclusive content. Additionally, all tutors participate in on-going professional development to ensure we are providing only the best to our students. All Kingsfield Tutors are highly qualified tutors who are currently working on a degree at a local university or have already received a bachelor’s degree in a field related to what they are tutoring. Many of our tutors have Master’s degrees or are teachers and have extensive experience with one-to-one tutoring.
