How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began running in 2005, for a healthier lifestyle. My running partner was my Jack Russell Terrier, Hunter. Hes run just about everywhere with me during my training runs for the Cape Cod Marathon. On days that Hunter ran, I noticed a marked improvement in his disposition. He became friendlier, more submissive, and overall happier. Granted, hes still a Jack Russell, but there seemed to be a correlation between the amount of exercise he received and his level of happiness. I conducted research, started the website and visited local dog businesses. Everyone I talked to thought this was a great idea. My wife and I decided to offer a dog running service to other dog owners. Soon after we added dog and cat pet sitting and dog walking to our services.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We've worked with homeless dogs at the Friends of Falmouth Dogs and held fundraisers for them and the two dog parks in the area (Falmouth and Mashpee). Our Falmouth, Mashpee and Bourne clients are pet lovers from every walk of life!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We worked with two anxious Siberian Huskies in Bourne when their owner was down for back surgery. At first they were not comfortable walking. After just a few sessions they came to greet us at the door and couldn't wait to walk. Dallas and Kira became part of the K9Cardio Pack and were a joy to bond with.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

During our dog exercise sessions (dog running, dog walking and dog playgroups) we constantly monitor your pets well-being while having fun and enjoying healthy and rewarding exercise. So most dogs are suited for running?
Dogs are natural born runners. They feel a sense of purpose while they are running, and after a few minutes, even the most stubborn dog will ignore distractions and concentrate on enjoying the run. We will safely allow your dog to determine the pace and never push too hard. If youd rather a walk, no problem. Walking, running and jogging are all great forms of exercise.
How much exercise should my dog receive?
Whether you have a Great Dane or a Yorkie, dogs typically need 30-45 minutes of exercise each day. This can be achieved through playtime, running, walking, swimming but we prefer K9Cardio!
What safety precautions do you take?
Please ensure your dog does not eat for 1 2 hours prior to exercise.
During your dogs exercise training session we will:

Keep your dog on a leash (this gives us control when running or walking).

What should be done after an exercise session?
After your dogs exercise training session:
Check carefully for ticks after each exercise session, especially if your dog has been on a trail.
Check your dogs feet for the presence of debris, and remove it immediately.
Provide your dog with plenty of water.
