FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My work is performed in the same manner as other therapists. Typically, a session is for one hour, which can be from 55 to 75 minutes, depending on the issues presented. That is payable at $75. per session. A 90 minute session is also available for $105., which just gives more time, or allows someone who knows their needs to schedule the time ahead.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon their arrival, they are greeted and asked to complete a brief informational sheet, including non-invasive questions about health history. I discuss their bodily issues with them and whether there is a specific issue they would like to have addressed. I ask them to feel free to communicate with me during the session with regard to their comfort and invite them to participate by letting me know if I need to change my pressure, etc. After that brief discussion I advise them that I am going to leave the room for privacy, invite them to make themselves comfortable on the massage table, and let them know that I will knock on the door before coming back in, again for their comfort and privacy. I typically have some music playing and the massage will commence.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a diploma from Everest College Massage Program (formerly Seattle School of Massage), which I completed with honors in 2010. I have kept up with my required continuing education, reinforcing my understanding of professional massage and bodywork with updated techniques and ethics standards, and generally furthering my practice by networking with other manual therapy and medical professionals, as well as by reading articles, manuals and other available information, whether from a website of professional affiliation, ABMP.com, or just items I come across online. Believe it or not, even Pinterest is filled with lots of good information about body issues and their treatment!
