Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a current college student, and I have been pitching in travel and club softball for 12 years.  I am very experienced in skills in all aspects of the game and would love to share my knowledge with other girls going through the sport as I did.  I know I could not have taught myself how to pitch, therefore my coaches were an incredible resource to me and my family.  I would love to be able to provide this kind of support and help to anyone wanting to learn to pitch no matter the experience.  I have taught several young girls before and was even the pitching coach for a travel team in my old hometown in Ohio.  I can also help you and your family get connected within the softball community not juts in travel, but in college and professional softball as well.  I am very connected with many influential coaches and players in the world of softball, including former Olympians, current and retired college coaches, and many very skilled pitching coaches. Again, I would absolutely love to help anyone that wants to learn how to play/pitch in this wonderful sport.  If you have any questions, you can email me through my contact information listed in my profile.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I typically charge $30 for an hour. I will not charge for any over time if the lesson runs over.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

My first lesson usually involves me and the student getting to know each other a little bit becasue trust and being comfortable is critical to the development process.  I keep a notebook full of notes for each student, so I really keep a personal account and level of involvement with my students.   I typically try to have the pitcher show me what they know and what they want to improve upon, or if they are a beginner and do not know what they need to improve I am more than willing to come up with milestones and goals for them to reach both in and out of the lesson.  During each lesson I let the player get warmed up and let them pitch full distance, then I like to bring them closer to the plate and work on segments of the pitching motion using tools such as spinners to improve the small but very important motions in the movement.  I am very detail oriented and will try to help students improve both speed and spins by making sure they are using the best pitching motion and technique that works for them. There really is no magic formula for pitching, it just takes time and figuring out the best motion for the student's body type.   I usually close out each lesson with a short discussion on how they feel about the lesson. We typically discuss what we think the student needs to work on outside of the lesson, drills I recommend, and anything I could be doing better to help the student achieve their goals.
