What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We would discuss your vision for your event. Do you want music in the background or music as a break from other activities? We can do either. You can pick your set list from my available songs and/or I can learn a song or two (depending on my lead time) to perform at your event. I have amplification for small or large events.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken lessons in voice, guitar and performance and frequently attend conferences designed to increase my skills at giving my audience a good time!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Depending on the circumstances, I generally ask for $30-50 an hour, more if you want me to include my amazing guitar player, Rick Warren (I recommend that!!!). If you prefer to pass the hat to your guests and/or do a House Concert format with a 'suggested donation' from your guests, we can discuss that
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love to entertain people. I have been making music for 15 years, but I have loved music for far longer!!! (Nope, no hints on my age!)
What types of customers have you worked with?
I am happy to do private parties, where the format can be like a concert or background music while you and your guests visit. I do have a number of love songs for engagement parties or weddings, but I am NOT a dance band. I love to do House Concerts, where a person invites their friends and either pass the hat or ask for a suggested donation for me to put on a private show at your house. I also look forward to playing for festivals, farmers markets, etc. If you have another idea, let me hear it!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Listen to videos of the performer. Read their song lists. Communicate clearly about your desires.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
For amplified shows, please be sure your neighbors will not be disturbed!
