For my Persian- American destination wedding in Cancun, the most important thing to me other than my husband and family was the photography and the memories captured. Photos are something that will last forever not the flowers or the design of your wedding cake. You hear so many horror stories on things going wrong and honestly I told myself if the cake falls or the dress rips its ok but if the photographer doesn’t show up or the photos are lost, I will pass out. When I spoke with Melissa over the phone 11 months before my wedding, I knew right off the bat she would be my destination wedding photographer. I can tell she absolutely loves what she does and really enjoys bringing joy to peoples hearts. She is absolutely amazing, artistic, talented and is a great listener. When we spoke on the phone for the first time I was immediately put at ease. I knew she was going to be the perfect photographer to capture my wedding. She did all of my photoshoots for my destination wedding at Cancun, the engagement, bridal, welcome party, and my favorite trash the dress in a cenote. Due to fortunate scheduling we were able to meet in NYC to where we did our engagement shoots and bridal shots in Central Park , the subway and Grand Central Station. I loved how comfortable she made me feel being in my own skin especially when I was getting really nervous before the wedding ceremony. She also helped my fiancé (now husband lol) learn how to pose naturally and be himself and not look to “staged.” As a friend she calmed me down when I had a moment of panic when something really minor didn’t go as planned (Dad walked into the room when I wasn’t ready to do the father daughter first glance) Mellisa was super sweet to all the guests and they all loved how sweet and charming she was. Some photographers are oftentimes very bossy and pushy and tell people to do things they are not comfortable doing, however, Melissa managed to get all the shots she needed, what the guests wanted and the shots I requested. Her unique technique in capturing photos of priceless moments is a gift from God. Perfection. The next day, we did our trash the dress session in a cenote (a water cave). It was pouring rain and there was very little light. I wasn’t sure if we were going to get the shots however Melissa was feeling confident and that put me at ease. We got very little light into the cave, however, through her magic eye and camera technique, Melissa was able to get the shots. After the wedding Melissa and I kept in touch and she followed up with me on the progress of the photos. She worked deligently on getting all of my photos finished, edited and put into the albums. I ordered the albums from her and allowed me to select which photos I wanted in the album. She went above and beyond to get my albums complete for my parents as a surprise gift for New Years. Since she understood my passion for photography, she was so nice to hand deliver the photos just to make sure I got them safely. When she showed me the albums for the first time I could not believe how beautiful the pictures came out. The photos were flawless and I burst into tears. My shock in how perfect the photos came out as well as the albums was more than I could have ever imagined. Mellisa not only saw the importance of photography in my life and my family, she brought the memories back to life every time we looked through the photo albums. She recipicated my vision and amplified it. If you are looking for a destination wedding photographer look no further Melissa is the best!
