FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Some jobs I bid/price by the job, or piece. Some I give client an hourly pricing, per man/men on the job. Some projects seem to move slow at some points, but at other points it seems that we get so much done in that hour that it's too cheap. It usually all comes out in the customer's favor, or fair in the end. I have knocked time and money off of a job as a whole before a few times when I felt it took too long and or cost was to high. That's why we do so much repeat business. I am doing work for at least a couple dozen people that we did a sm, med or large job for several years ago, now they call us for EVERYTHING. If by chance we don't do it I'll try to refer you to someone trustworthy to get it done. There's 4-5 clients that we are currently doing work for on a regular basis, like weekly, by weekly. Two in particular that have big lists of stuff that we work on about every week, sometimes at least 1-2 of us are at there home's one to 3-4 days a week. Several clients have us work on thier rental properties too, they usually aren't there with us, but they don't worry about it, they know we're fair and honest. A couple of clients live out of state and we do ongoing maintenance, etc. Go be plumber, furnace, electrical, anything short notice, cause they can't be there. Some I then bill for the service, one guy has me just put charges on his credit card.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new client we try to explain the process that we'll be doing, so they/you understand at least the basics of what & how we're doing what we are. Into as much detail as you care to bear, that is. We do mainly repeat and referral work. Once we start your job, or the second time around clients are generally very relaxed and just say "go to it" moreless, because they know we're going to do a good job in a reasonable amount of time and for a reasonable price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I personally started helping my father and two of my favorite uncle's at a very young age (10-11). I was intrigued by starting something, no matter what the project, and when we were done it was different. Whether tearing off a room, adding on a room, rooms, garage, deck, fixing something, remodeling a bath - kitchen, whole house... What ever the job/project when you complete it, it's different than before. And it generally makes someone happy, I just like that. It's truly not only about the money. I own another labor intensive business that brings in alot more income. But this I enjoy "hands on" accomplishing changing something for the better.
