We hired Rising Starr Construction to do a home renovation and new roof. They did a terrible job. The roof was installed without getting a permit. It was installed with very poor workmanship, improperly installed underlayment, improper shingle installation, nailed improperly, sloppy flashing and crooked and improperly installed venting. The inspector from the state ruled that the entire roof has to be torn off and redone! They also had numerous sloppy and poor workmanship on the interior work that needed to be re-done, including poorly installed door and door frames and cabinetry. We ended up having to file a claim against them with the Contractors State Licencing Board. The case was decided against them, but they refused to pay! We eventually collected the full payment from their bond company. They no longer have a valid licence to contract work as of this posting. You can check by going to the CSLB website and looking them up by business name or licence number 1014710. We learned to do much better background vetting before selecting a contractor in the future!
