FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Projects can vary greatly. Some are pretty straight forward where you don't really expect any surprises. Other jobs can be the exact opposite. So I try to just take into consideration the materials needed as well as the time it will take to complete each particular job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The customer and myself would discuss in detail the entire scope of the project ( what exactly they want done and in what time frame ). In the process of doing so the customer would convey if they or I will be acquiring materials. If I will be acquiring the materials, I will figure out all of the materials needed and calculate the estimated time to completion so that I can give the customer as accurate of an estimate as possible before any work begins. Once the estimate is given and a contract is signed, 100% of the MATERIAL cost and 50% of the LABOR cost will be due before any physical work begins. The remaining 50% is due within 1-2 weeks of the projects completion to the customers satisfaction.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I don't have any technical school training, I have received countless hours of on the job training from a number of carpenters, plumbers, and electricians both on residentialand commercial projects. I also received in - shop as well as on the job training for 15 months more recently from a master welder/metal fabricator and installer.
