Blackwell's School of Music and Film

Introduction: Blackwell's School of Music offers private musical instruction in piano, voice, strings, brass, woodwind, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass guitar, percussion, songwriting and recording. Our private lessons provide students with one-on-one, focused instruction on the instrument of their choice. The student will be instructed on the basics of proper playing techniques, music theory and musicianship. Music students will do a fall and spring recital. Students who are more advance will have the opportunity to do live performances at senior citizens' homes, Lake Quassy Amusement Park and churches. The program is open to youth ages 6 to adult. Blackwell's School of Film offers Film Group Lab with a maximum of 10 students in a lab for film projects. Film Group Lab provides instruction in the working of DV and HDV cameras, filming, lighting, sound and editing. Blackwell's School of Music and Film will provide a structured environment wherein students will receive training in memorization, personal positive commercials, "Our Deepest Fear" poem, writing PSAs (Public Service Announcements), filming the project on DV or HDV cameras, working with a professional film producer and musician to create, developing and capturing their work in a professional setting. The program is open to youth and adult.
