Introduction: As someone who was never a math wiz in the past, but had to really grind and work at becoming proficient in the field of mathematics, I feel like that helps me be a better tutor because I don't skip the details and I make sure I take a logical step by step process to not only solve a problem, but have a conceptual understanding about the language that is mathematics.
It thrills me to see students have fun. Every student has his or her unique way of learning but the one constant (Pun intended) that is always present is that the students are enjoying themselves and the learning process. That is why I feel it is so important to build an easy rapport with students in the beginning, making the student feel at ease, and comfortable, putting the student in a position in which he or she feels comfortable asking questions, for example, and getting a complete understanding of the material at hand.I enjoy tutoring because it gives me the opportunity to teach in a one-on-one situation, focusing my attention on one willing student, and helping that student to achieve his or her goal. I enjoy building a student's confidence, and sharing the joy that comes with improvement.
