Introduction: My favorite part of teaching piano is fostering a love of music in my students. I have been playing the piano since I was four, and the creativity and expression it offers has enriched my life so much. Passing that on to my students, while teaching them the self-discipline, responsibility and other life skills that they need to achieve it, allows me to spread the joy of music while experiencing it again for the first time alongside each student. Watching them improve, sharing in the struggles and successes of each student’s unique journey, and seeing them grow to love the instrument for its own sake is the most rewarding part of teaching.
