FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on a number of factors: number of hours playing how many specific song/piece requests there are (if any) if I'm bringing my own amplification if there are rehearsals of any kind if I'm playing, singing or doing both if I'm providing other musicians distance I need to travel Having said that, I'm relatively flexible, so if you tell me your budget, I can usually work something out.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A talk on the phone is the most effective first step if possible. We would discuss what exactly you are looking for (starting with, whats the PURPOSE of the music... purpose will drive expectations). We would discuss how long of a set you need, and if there are special requests (i.e. song requests) or anything else unique/catered. We would then discuss what I need to bring in terms of amplification. Lastly we would nail down the exact schedule, including set up and break down (incase I need to be there extra early for any reason, if there is a time when music music end, or everyone need to be out, if there are specific times when the music should stop for announcements, etc.). Of course, depending on the exact event, there could be more discussion and work involved, but those are the basic!
