FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is dependent on the location, distance traveled and how long you would like me to speak. We will work together to find the right price for you and your organization so that there is an equal exchange of value brought to the table.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is no set way that we go about working together because every audience is different. The most important aspect of choosing a speaker is finding out if we are a great fit for one another. Step 1. There will be a speaker agreement emailed to you so that it may be signed and returned. Step 2. We will then have a phone conference to more closely get to know one another and discuss the details of your event. Step 3. One week before the event, we will have a secondary phone conference to finalize details and make sure everything is in line with your goals for the audience. Step 4. I arrive around one to two hours early to double check that the equipment (Sound, Video, Ect) is working properly so that there are no delays, insuring that your audience will have the best possible experience. Step 5. Now I am fully prepared to not only WOW your audience but leave them with valuable lessons that they can take away from the event and immediately implement into their lives. Step 6. After I have finished speaking, I will do a Q and A with the audience to make sure each and every person in attendance fully grasps the message and feels like part of the event. Step 7. Before taking my leave, I will meet and greet with those in attendance to better get to know them and their stories. Every person is a book worth reading.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I use to work as a professional race horse groom which requires you to work seven days a week, three hundred and sixty five days a year. Most of the time, you worked mornings and afternoons so there was no time to go anywhere or do anything you wanted to do. Each person (if they are lucky) gets a small room to stay in known as a "tack room". Normally this is where you would store all your saddles, bridals, medication and so forth but the ones not used for this become home for those of us working. The room measured up at 12ft by 12ft and was very similar to a prison cell. Needing some form of entertainment, I began watching YouTube videos when I got off work. One day I came across something known as TedX and was instantly hooked. If you are not familiar with TedX, it is an event held every year where some of the greatest speakers in the world come together to share ideas worth spreading. I watched as many TedX videos as I could find every day because they lit a fire in my soul. I knew pretty quick that I had found my purpose. I knew that THAT was what I was put here to do. I told my self then and there that one day I will speak on the TedX stage and inspire the world and now I am on my way to doing just that. Once this concept became a solidified reality for me, I began going to big places like Walmart or the Mall to force my self into social situations. Each week I would take $50 out of my paycheck to buy Hot N Ready pizzas for homeless people around town just so I could sit and listen to their stories. I found that performing small acts of kindness is a more comfortable way to spark up conversation with people so I practiced it. Everywhere I went, I practiced talking to others by starting with a compliment of some kind. It got easier and easier until one day It just felt normal. It became an addiction, seeing the spark in someones eyes when they hear my message. Then out of nowhere I was invited to speak at Churchhill Downs Millionaires Row in Kentucky for a fundraiser. Excited to bring all my practice into action, I got up there and the crowd went wild. We earned around $200,000 that day for a great cause and I got to do what I had been dreaming of every single day. From there I continued to write and practice delivering like those who spoke on the TedX stage I had seen so many times before. I would watch how they moved, interacted, spoke, everything. I would film my self speaking then hone my craft and one day people began telling me that I was performing on a higher level than those I had been watching. I took it with a grain of salt until I met the great Loren Harris, who is now not only my Speaking Coach but my very close friend. Not sure why It came up on my news-feed but he put a post on Facebook that said: "If you have ever thought about becoming a public speaker, text this number ########" I shot him a text and awaited a call. A few minutes later my phone rang and he asked me to tell him a little about my self. We talked for several minutes, he heard how I speak, the wisdom in the message and a passion that lights a fire in my voice. We had our first coaching session and it was the beginning of the greatest journey my life has ever laid in front of me.
