I recently worked a birthday party where I was hired to perform my one hour magic show. I began by going to each child and shaking their hand, asking a few questions, performing some jokes and gags as well as some great close-up magic. All of this was designed to inspire an appetite for the magical mayhem that was about to ensue. I then approached the grandfather, placed my hand on his forehead and successfully read his mind three times in a row! The reaction from everyone in the room was one of jaw-dropping, sheer surprise with one parent yelling, "No way!" Now, this was only the beginning of the show. The reaction was so resounding that I jokingly walked to the middle of the room and announced " Folks,that concludes my show for today." "Thank you for letting me be here." To which the entire audience erupted in gut-busting laughter! Needless to say the rest of the show proceeded perfectly and elicited the same level of laughter and amazement. I concluded the show with my "greatest trick in the world" routine where I transform a can of jelly bellies into cold hard cash! The reaction? A standing ovation!
