We used Elizabeth's Bakery twice in the past and had no problems or issues. But the third time we decided to use them, for my granddaughter's 1st birthday we ran into some problems. We ordered 2 smash cakes and 3 dozen cupcakes. The first cake was not like the picture we emailed as the example. The small disks were made into buttons instead of flat plain disks as in the picture we sent them. My daughter didn't say anything when she picked it up, although she was very disappointed. I made sure to make contact with them again before picking up the 2nd cake and cupcakes to ensure they were what we wanted and were like the examples emailed. I never received a response to my email so I called and the employee did not act like she had the time of day to talk to me. The cake once again was not like the picture I sent them. So, we did say something at the time we picked it up. The employee said it could be fixed but might mess up the rosettes and what we wanted required a different type of frosting and we didn't pay for it. If we had known before we would have paid the extra. This was never mentioned to me in my several conversations about prices and design and I asked that it be like the picture that was emailed. After leaving and seeing how upset my daughter was once again, I called and asked to see if another cake could be made like we wanted and we were willing to pay for it. I was told no; they did not have bakers or decorators working. So, I decided to bring up the issue with the 1st cake. The employee told me they were not sure from the pictures what we wanted and just decided to make it the way they wanted. I asked why we weren't contacted to get a clarification. I did not receive an answer; just excuses as to what happened. One excuse had to do with being contacted by 2 people, which was not even true. I was the only person making contact with them. They did not seem concerned that we were not happy and didn't offer any help, other than they could change it but it might mess up the rosettes and the person fixing it wasn't a decorator but knew enough. That didn't sound very encouraging. The customer service is lacking with this bakery and I do not recommend them to anyone for this reason.

Awesome People !! Love being a part of this and all the hustle and bustle! Melissa, you make everyday fun! Cheryl, we miss you on Friday's even though we know you enjoy your day off lol. It's just not the same when your not there with us :) And Wanda, you play such a vital part of it all - when your gone on a much needed vacation or whatever has pulled you away, we can't wait for your return- we love hearing your laugh and your ability to know how to work with even the toughest customers is awesome and I have learned so much from you and hope to continue doing so for a while yet :) Haylie, Colby and Jacks - I may not get a lot of time with you guys, but we are so much appreciative of all that you do-there is no way we could get by without ya'lls help! Looking forward to another great week and praying the Lord gives us the strength, wisdom and knowledge of how to handle and deal with every situation that will come our way!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We try to stay within a competitive range, but you definitely get what you pay for by choosing us, which is a top notch work of art that tastes as great as it looks! Due to booking and scheduling-Any deposits made are considered a reserve on our calendar and are NON-REFUNDABLE.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
What we ask from you is to have an idea of what you would like, have a good picture-maybe one that you have found on Pinterest. We want your cake or cookies to turn out perfect for your event, so the more details we have the better! Where we go from there is discussing how many servings you’ll need and setting up a possible tasting (if preferred) if you’re ordering a wedding cake. We like to make is as easy as possible for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am basically self taught. I have taken a few classes at cake shows or from other cake decorators online. I am constantly looking to learn the latest trends and newest techniques.
