I have been fortunate to have Justin Ragan of A/C Nerds work on three different a/c systems for me in Austin. Each time he was quick to respond to my telephone calls, able to go to the site(s) and resolve each difficulty quickly, at a very reasonable price. His work was successful and held over time. I have explicit trust in his skills, integrity, and fairness. In addition, living in Austin with plenty of heat and tenants needing a successful fix quickly, Justin is one of the most important people in my business life. I have tried many a/c companies, large and small over many years and have full intention of keeping a solid relationship with him! I'd rate Justin and his company more that five stars if it were possible. He's a professional "fixer" who quickly zeros in on the problem, explains what's going on, why it happened, and how he will go about the repair. We have used him twice and his knowledge, trustworthiness and efficiency can't be beat.

I am a big fan of A/C Nerds and its owner, Justin. He came into a situation regarding my HVAC knowing that I'd probably have green-lit a full replacement, but insisted on trying to see if the existing unit was repairable first. After having had two other "reputable" services tell me my unit was a lost cause and needed immediate replacement, Justin managed to make a few tweaks and additions that put it back into service right away, and it has been running beautifully since. He is courtesy, easy going, and dealt with a lot of questions from me with unflappable patience.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
(Air-conditioning and Heating) HVAC CONTRACTING RATES: Service call Trip fee $40 FREE DIAGNOSTIC WITH REPAIR Flat Rate Price for Repair and Replacement Sesonal and Annual Agreements HANDYMAN RATES : I charge $80 per hour for labor with basic hand tools and hand drills, skill saws and alike. I charge $100 per hour (1 hr minimum) for labor with heavy machinery, ladders over 9 ft, large power tools. General Contracting I Work for percentage of bid. I Negotiate the percentage with the Tradesman we need for the job. You tell me what you want and what you are willing to pay I get it done under budget and take my share.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will text call or email until I get a response, set up a brief job overview by phone if possible or in person, date set for job start and completion , job retainer/ down payment in certain cases, complete job , receive compensation for job , Email invoice, job follow up.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In 2007 I graduated from Everest Institute of Technology where I earned my certification in HVAC. I then worked with Honeywell and Comverge on the Austin Energy Power Partner's Program. I've Been a business owner / Texas department of license and regulations Licensed HVAC Contractor since 2013.
