Introduction: Each of my murals is one of a kind - creative, inspired, interesting, beautiful. I do epic, sweeping beauty and I do simple, joyful, and childlike. I love nature imagery with a great reverence for trees, the sky, mountains, water... I can make your space feel amazing. All my life I have loved beauty, stories, pictures. Alex painted a mural on two walls in my master bedroom. And I loved it. I was able to discuss the project with him while he worked on it, and he listened and understood what I wanted.

Alex Cook painted a wonderful mural for my church on the side of a public building. It is a famous location now, and many people come to see it and take their picture in front of it. The owner of the building estimates about a dozen people a day come and have their picture taken with the mural. It is a beautiful scene of deer coming out of a forest at dawn, while the sun rises over the distant desert and the mountains beyond. The whole scene transports one to a peaceful place. It goes so perfectly with the surrounding building and works in concert with the awnings of the building. It's a lovely gift to the community and well-loved!

Our church hired Alex to provide a mural for the community education room of a local homeless family shelter. The design process - working closely with shelter staff, the painting of the mural from concept to finished product, the care and inclusion of shelter families during the project, were consistently harmonious and thoughtful - a spiritual experience. I would recommend Alex to anyone wanting to bring light and joy through art, to any space, public or private.

We had an excellent experience from start to finish creating a long mural in a highly trafficked area across from the Jackson Square T station in Boston. Alex met with two focus groups and drafted a great design that put their words into a visual piece. We went back and forth a few times and he incorporated feedback. During the week before painting day he prepared the surface and created the outline. On painting day, he oversaw close to 50 volunteers. He made finishing touches over the following week and we have not stopped receiving positive comments!

Pricing is based on the size of the wall and detail of the design. Most murals are between 2K-8K
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Painting a mural begins with a conversation. I will ask you what you want to feel in your space. What do you want to express to the people who walk into your space or pass by on the street? We will create a list of ideas or feelings that you want to express, as well as images or ideas that you would like included. I will then create sketches and we will arrive at the idea for the mural.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in painting from UMass Amherst and I have been painting murals for over 18 years. I have created over 110 murals in 15 states and 5 countries.
