I reached out to Thumbtack to hire a metal worker to retrofit a large burglar bar to meet code, single action quick release, in the event of a fire. I also needed someone to re-install burglar bars that had been vandalized.
Will Sims responded within aa few hours of my post and asked for an onsite visit to properly estimate the quote. Upon arrival, he assessed the project, offered me some lower cost options that would meet my needs and took the time to explain to me why the vandals were able to take the burglar bars down so easily.
While he was on the property, he took a look at some other jobs I was preparing to post to Thumbtack ad provided an assessment of what needed to be done. Before departing, he provided some options on purchasing the needed supplies.
When he arrived to complete the work, he kept me apprised of his arrival time and went to wok promptly. He came with receipts for the supplies he purchased, a work order, and once my job was completed, he provided a final invoice (that was just as estimated). Midway through the work, he noticed that yet another set of burglar bars had been the target of vandals. We were able to add them to the scope without issue. He also offered multiple payment options which made our transaction quick and easy.
Mr. Sims was professional and efficient. He's someone I'd definitely work with again. This was my first Thumbtack experience and if it is a sign of things to come, I'll always start here for my home projects.
