Matthew did not have the crew, he said he had. Most of the days he was here by himself. he said it would take him two weeks to do the work that he quoted to do. That time had passed and the work was nowhere near done. What work he did do he did very well. But I could not do the timeframe that it was going to take him to do the work . Those two bathrooms and laundry room still need to be completed by someone and I'm running out of time !!!
Northeast Tennessee Housewright's reply
Debra, I am sorry you were not happy with your projects but if you recall the previous contractor installed a lot of things incorrectly which in turn caused more work with *(Bathroom 1 Downstairs) (1.) Backer Board was installed over sheetrock plus was installed incorrectly by the amount of gaps in boards which was filled with a lot of silicone. (2.) Studs being notched over 50% for waterlines (3.)The shower bench being rebuilt twice (first bench from previous contractor was very weak and could have been done better by a child) I rebuilt the bench and then you needed it lowered so I done it again. (4.) Door header was not attached to jack or king stud because it was 11” to short. (5.) Water lines for sink had nine pex fittings in a two foot by one foot section (6.) You requested valve body be moved and shower supply line be relocated. ** (Bathroom Upstairs) The bathroom should not be touched until Living Room work is completed and any real contractor will look at that as a must. *** (Laundry Room) (1.) Major structure damage due to rot causing ceiling/roof joist to sag across storage room, laundry room, and bathroom. I refused to cover damage after you instructed me to cover. (2.) Waterlines had to be put into wall. There is no way to have multiple people in the bathrooms working. I talked to three different contractors and not one of them would touch the project unless it is in correct order of demo, repair (bring to code), and then cosmetic. If rot is found or structure issue it has to be addressed not covered up. You stated at the start of the project when damage was found in a main supporting corner that "When a can of worms is opened at some point you gotta stop". That is not even possible with my company. I make sure things are done correctly the first time and it will be the same for a long time. In closing I apologize that there is no way to bring DIY TV speeds to real life. You will be looking at months to complete all projects if done correctly in the right order and to code. I wish you the best in finding the contractor that fits your needs and views. Thanks, Northeast Tennessee Housewright Management
