This guy, Wade, is terrible. When he was fixing a short section 1/2" pipe, he cut out a section of my good copper pipe and replaced it with a dirty cheap flexible hose (note, this is not the section that leaked), and he took the copper pipe away with him. He also got my basement and unwilling to clean it up. Another simple item on this same trip -- He spent about 15 minutes to caulk/seal a shower drain with silicon ( the gasket is the original one, he didn't use any additional part at all) -- and he charged this item for $119 before tax.Jan 7, 2017VerifiedBuckeye T.'s reply
What a tall tale! DJ was told EXACTLY what would be done and how it would be done. Then, he signed a work order authorizing the work to be done at the agreed price. Then, after I completed the work, DJ complained about every aspect of the job. I discounted his ticket by $60 but he still was not happy. DJ is an engineer. He told me this several times. DJs problem may be that he is embarrassed because the job was simple and took hardly any anytime to complete and he, being an engineer, was unable to perform the task at hand...any novice do it yourselfer could have done this work. As to the mess...it was water as you see in the picture. DJ told me not to worry about it when I offered to mop it up. We give refunds when warranted but no refunds are given on a pre-authorized work order such as this. And besides that, this work was done flawlessly. (see pics) DJ's is a classic case of buyers remorse. Once I was done he saw that he could've done this himself very easily. DJ is a bad apple and it only takes one to ruin a bunch...I will post a copy of DJ's signed invoice in the photo section of our Thumbtack profile for any interested parties to view as I cannot post it here.😡

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The only pricing system we have is a starting or base price of $159 for most services. In order to provide a level of security and to ensure reasonable legitimacy, we will ask you to provide a credit card or PayPal payment at the time you schedule an evaluation or service call. This charge is non-refundable, but will be applied to any future costs incurred. This service call charge includes limited travel, evaluation, diagnosis and a detailed, written estimate upon request AND help locating parts if needed. We travel anywhere in Ohio but we also have a mileage charge of $.33/mile with the first 50 miles free. When you secure an appointment with your credit card, 100 miles of travel are included with the estimate that you receive if the work cannot be completed same day.
