What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically when I link up with a new client, I will spend one FREE session getting to know them. Whether it is an over the phone chat or a meeting at a coffee shop, we will go over their fitness experience and personal goals. I will answer any questions and give them a brief overview of what I recommend. From there we discuss my service options and what is the most comfortable and beneficial to them and establish a first month plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in psychology and in sociology. I am a Crossfit Level 1 trainer. and have extensive experience both training and coaching in the crossfit and interval training styles. I have worked with many on sports psychology and the importance of the mind in fitness. I also have experience being mentored by one of the top holistic health coaches in nutrition and wellness.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My passion for health and fitness stemmed when I myself changed my lifestyle. I was struggling mentally for some time; depression and anxiety. When I started crossfit it changed my life and I knew very quickly that what I wanted to do was help others improve their lives that same way health and fitness has improved my own.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all ages and fitness levels. I currently coach a kids and teens class with children ranging from ages 4-18. I also work with adults of all ages; from their 20s through their 80s. I have great experience working with people with physical limitations or those trying to become active after an injury, surgery, or illness. I also have years of experience in exercise and nutrition coaching to adults with severe mental illness.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice when looking for a personal trainer or health coach is to take the time to get to know them and make sure they get to know you. Every BODY is different. You are not the same as my last client and my next client will not be the same as you. Each person has different needs, goals, and fitness/health levels. It is important that you are getting a program geared to you.
