Introduction: There are about 3 things that make my Interior Design business different that other designers. First, I have a BA in Consumer and Family Sciences from Berry College in Rome Georgia 25 years ago which means I have background knowledge of the "nuts and bolts" of Interior Design. I have had lots of experience with all kinds of situations from building a house to remodeling a house to doing just one or two things in the home. Second, I have my own custom window treatment workroom and I have won many awards on my designs in my industry. I stay up to date on all the trends and can provide creative, one of a kind designs that fit my clients' needs and fit their windows perfectly. Third, I am a certified member of ASID, the professional organization for the Interior Design Industry an have also gotten my ReGREEN Certification which focuses on the healthy home environments, money saving systems in the home as well as environmentally safe options. I combine all of my experience and tailor my services to each and every client project so they get exactly what they need. I am very careful to pay attention to the clients' budget along the way as well. I have been passionate about Interior Design since I literally was in High School! I live, eat and breathe it! I love to pick paint colors, love to dig into all the detail of designing a kitchen, and enjoy putting my clients' tastes into my designs for their homes. I am like a LIVE computer decorating program with a personality. I've been told people love to work with me due to my enthusiasm, my knowledge and my creativity! I have worked on several commercial as well as residential projects and I have very versatile design styles that I have been able to create! My network of subcontractors is very diverse so I can meet about any need you may have for your home.

Melinda is a very professional interior designer. I am graphic designer, so I know the process of design and working with clients. She has helped me on understanding products for the home and what will work best. I have a plan, just did not know where to look on the best products for my needs. I have seen her work with others and she guides you thru the process with the understanding of your style, budget, time and goals. Her designs are award winning and she is always growing her knowledge of products and innovative ways to get the work done in a streamlined manner. She is reGREEN certified and a responsible designer. I would highly recommend her. Especially with her window treatments! Award winning and oerfectly executed!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard Interior Design rate per hour is $150. However, if you sign up for a Design Package my rate is lowered and my time is pre-package per se and tailored specifically to your needs. You may choose to do as much or as little of the project at a time as your budget allows My window covering services are priced a little different...if you would like JUST a custom window covering I will come to your home armed with samples of fabric that I feel might fit your needs (I take down that information at the initial intervies) and I will collect $150 at the time of the appointment. This will be used towards and order you place with me. If you are JUST wanting Blinds, Shades or Shutters the appointment is at no charge.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually do a 20 minute phone interview with my prospective customer to see what their needs are and to get some information about their rooms that they want to redecorate or what kind of things they need me to help them with. I will set them up for a consultation at their home and this appointment lasts about 1 - 1/12 hours. I will listen to what they need me to do, take LOTS of notes, and I will present them with a design package either on the spot for smaller projects or I will call the next day with my Design proposal which is tailored specifically to their needs. I will present them with a Letter of Agreement and if they sign off on the services/pricing I will take half of the total of the services down and I will get stated pulling the project together. When I present the options to the client (and YES, I do give about 3 options for them to look at) they will make their choices and then I will estimate all the items to be used in the project to make that project happen all the way to completion.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Consumer and Family Sciences with a Concentrataion in Interior Design from Berry College in Rome Georgia I have won 7 International Window Treatment Competitions from Vision Magazine formally called Window Fashions Magazine I am an Associate ASID Member I am ReGREEN Cerfiied I have been mentioned on Marketwatch, Fox, ABC, CBS, and Yahoo Finance I am a Certified Hunter Douglas Dealer
