About this pro
I am a CPDT-KA, member of Pet Professional Guild and Supporting Member of IAABC. I have been training for 18 years, use force free dog training to help you develop a dog that wants to do the right thing and looks to you for answers. I specialize in behavior modification methods that address the issue causing the problem not just shut the behavior down and possibly cause others. I come to you to help fix the issue that is causing the problem, not just give you a bandaid to stop the behavior. I help you work on making your relationship with your pet one that you both can be happy with. I do in home grooming as well as dog walking. I love watching a dog that was desperately trying to tell it's owners what the issue was finally make a connection with their owner. It's like watching a light go on, and seeing the look of they really get why the dog doesn't like Bob!

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? You are not just paying an hourly rate with me. You are paying for my years of experience, knowledge and certifications in my field. You can be assured that you have someone that actually knows what they are doing with behavior. Regular dog consultations run 40 plus mileage fee. Aggressive dog Consultations run 60 as they are a bit more in depth and require me to work within the dogs comfort zone. I have package deals on my website that give a bit of a discount to those wanting to save a little money.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to speak to the client first to see what I can help with. Clients are sent to my website to do an intake form that will help me with working with their dog as well as scheduling an appointment time that is convenient for them. We meet I evaluate the dog and hear the owners concerns as well as ask questions that the intake form may have led to and then a I come up with a training plan tailored to each dog and owner to help the owner set the dog up to succeed. Management behaviors are given as well as information to Start them on the path to a better behaved dog.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a CPDT-KA, which means not only am I a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, but I have been tested on that knowledge. I do regular Webinars, and Continuing Education Units through the many professional organizations I am part of. The Association of Professional Dog Trainers or APDT. As well as The Pet Professional Guild and International Association of Behavior Consultants IAABC.org I have 18 years of hands on experience and am constantly working to keep up with industry standards. I work with and am mentored by several other force free trainers, Veterinary behaviorists, and Applied animal behaviorists. If I do not know the answer to a problem I have this pool of professionals to seek help from. I have trained well over 900 private lesson dogs and many, many group classes. I am able to teach 42 different tasks for service dogs at last count. I am an AKC CGC evaluator, able to give STAR puppy classes.
