- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Pricing is hourly and is based on the subject for tutoring. For example, specialized subjects and test prep will be higher hourly rates. Test prep packages are available in 10, 16, and 24 hour packages. Academic packages are typically longer to account for the school year.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?After an initial discussion over the phone, our typical process for academic tutoring and test prep is to meet with a student and their parent(s)/guardian(s) for about an hour to discuss the current situation and short and long term goals. That helps us recommend the right tutoring package, assess the student's needs, and make a personality match with the tutor.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?We got started in tutoring based on two things. First, the idea of offering students academic coaching, a service to help them succeed both short and long term in school was very exciting. Both my wife and I have always said that maybe if we were more organized and had the right skills in high school then our grades would have been better. Being able to offer that to students now is valuable because we know how grades can change the future of a student from college offers to job offers. Additionally, we have two sons and want the best for them so being able to also help other parents give their kids the world makes us happy.
