FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We evaluate each project and its requirements and then give a flat fee for the project based off of $150.00 per hour. Any additional work outside the scope of what was quoted will be billed additional at that hourly rate of $150.00 per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we gather all the information from the customer to prepare the quotation. Once we receive the down payment we start on the project development, 3-D modeling, engineering product development. During this process, we send 3-D PDFs to the customer to evaluate the design and requirements. While continuing with the engineering stage, we start the prototyping stage and evaluate any corrections or modifications that may enhance the product or make its manufacturing easier. We then apply that to the design and finish the engineering with these changes and corrections. When have a proven design and a working prototype we can enter this outsourcing stage of the project. I will then travel to the factories to negotiate a price of the production and go over and all the details with the factories for this to be manufactured properly. During this process, we also line up all the project management parameters for the factory and quality control parameters for your production. Please keep in mind that every project and product are different and we adapt our profile for each product individually, but the basic process always remains the same.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended three schools, Porter Chester Institute for CAD design, Harford State technical College for mechanical engineering and manufacturing engineering and the University of Scranton for mechanical engineering with a minor in industrial design. I've also developed a large reservoir of skills over 30 years of being in business and working on hundreds of products. My Chinese business partner Nigel who runs the Shanghai office is also a engineer from the aerospace industry. He was a graduate of engineering from Nanjing University in China.
