Judy got back to me about a very short notice project and communicated very clearly throughout the whole process. She was such a joy to be around and made the whole photoshoot a huge success and so much fun! She got the pictures back to us very quickly and they came out amazing! I cannot say enough good things about Judy; she did such an amazing job and our photos turned out great! She was so willing to work around time changes as my fiancé and I were driving from Milwaukee to Coloma, MI. We ended up getting to the spot decided upon later than originally predicted - the sun was mostly set, and there was barely any light. Judy was still able to get some great pictures of the proposal there for us, before she took some pictures of us back at our Airbnb as well! Some of the pictures came out a little blurry because there wasn't much light, so she took more time to come back down to the beach another day and reshoot in the light!
Judy is such a kind person and she takes incredible pictures. She didn't charge me for anything because she felt bad that some of the photos from the original proposal were blurry from the lighting. I really tried, but she is certainly her biggest critique. She is someone who really takes pride in her craft, and you can tell by working with her that she is exactly the person you want taking the pictures. A real professional in every aspect of photography. I couldn't recommend Judy Gray more to anyone looking to book a photographer in the SE region of mainland MI. Thank you for everything, Judy!

Judy was so amazing! She helped me surprise my girlfriend at the time with the proposal. The photos came out amazing! She guided us on what some good poses and backgrounds would be, but also let us choose different ones we wanted including my jeep :). I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for professional photos taken.

Judy did a fantastic job with our family portraits! She braved the weather and captured wonderful shots of all of us - including our four month old and puppy. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee includes up to a two hour session, location of your choice, editing hours with the edited digital images delivered to you via an online gallery with unlimited, high resolution images, sharable with friends and family.
Weddings are priced by the hour. In addition to the photos being delivered through an online gallery, a USB flash drive is also provided to the bride and groom.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After making contact through Thumbtack, we can then communicate via text or phone call. It's not necessary to meet in person prior to our appointment, unless we are discussing a large wedding, in which case we would meet to work up a contract.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a self taught photographer. I'm constantly learning from other photographers, online information, reading, photographing.
I do have a BA in social welfare/psychology. Although this doesn’t help much with my photography skills, it’s very beneficial to my people skills, in addition to having years of experience in social work and as a juvenile probation worker and foster care worker.
