- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We do have a standard pricing structure in place but it is extremely difficult to give out standard prices in the accounting industry because it is not a one size fits all type of industry. It is best for us to determine exactly what you need and are looking for first so that we can work together to find what is affordable for your business.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The owner of Shearer's Accounting & Tax Services has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and has been working in the accounting industry for 13 years, 11 of those in public accounting. The other two years were spent in the manufacturing industry learning in-depth management and cost accounting. The 11 years in public accounting proved to be invaluable, as he learned all aspects of public accounting, such as financial statements, small business consulting, payroll, business and personal taxes, corporate structures and much more.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
The owner of Shearer's Accounting & Tax Services has always had a love of numbers, and he was first able to take an accounting class in his junior year of high school. He took two full years of accounting in high school before going to college to major in the subject, knowing it was exactly what he wanted to do for a living. After college, he went back to his hometown and started to work immediately for a local public accounting firm, and still works in the same area to this day.
