We have two 5th graders who have been going to Mathnasium 3-4 times per week for almost 2 years now. They are thriving in math and the primary reason is because of the way math is taught at Mathnasium. Let’s face it, each day at school they only have a 45 minute math class. It really is an insufficient amount of time to teach the increased math work load that schools and CommonCore demand. We were told at 6th grade orientation the kids will be taught what used to be 8th grade level (in all subjects). There is absolutely no way my kids could consistently earn A’s & B’s if not for Mathnasium. In fact, they insist on going and never raise an objection. We are talking about 11 year olds and they are experiencing the benefits of going 3-4 times per week. Can’t say enough about how satisfied we are with the way they approach teaching math and the professionals who work there! From the owners, Nicolas and Barbara, to each staff member. They are 2nd to none. We considered hiring a tutor, but realized that this is not a place to just help with homework, but there is a bigger picture and their goal is to actually teach your child how to better comprehend math. To have the kids understand how math works from the fundamentals on up, not to help them “pass the next test”. I could go on and put more reasons for going to Mathnasium (increased self-esteem, less headaches and NO crying at night when kids are struggling to do homework, better opportunities for their choice of colleges, careers, etc..) but suffice to say, our family is a HUGE supporter of Mathnasium in Medford, NJ!
