Introduction: Traveling nationwide is how Mr. Zimmerman continues advocating for U.S. Services Members, their families and our veterans. Kevin speaks at leadership conferences, government agencies, college/ university graduations and on television interviews, just to name a few. Knowing the miracles that happened in his life, Mr. Zimmerman understands the much needed commitment to advocate for his fellow service members, past, present and future. Having deployed on multiple occasions into hostile environments and living through the after affects of doing so, Kevin knows the need to keep Service Member issues in the forefront of our communities nationwide. It is Kevin’s unyielding mission to call upon every community to access every available resource until an alternative is found to help our service members reduce the military suicide rate, reduce military sexual assaults, reduce the number of veterans experiencing homelessness, and to provide better after-service support for their transition from the military to civilian life. In September 2001, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll was conducted and showed that 67% of America predicted that combat troops would be fighting somewhere in the world for at least the next 20 years. Since then we have been fighting the war on terrorism for several years. The commitment to fight this war has been shouldered by less than 1% of America. That is how many citizens have joined the all volunteer Armed Forces. The duration of time we have spent fighting this war has called for our Service Members to go on multiple deployments. The results have taken a heavy toll on them. The military suicide rate has reached its highest numbers in our nations history. Military sexual assault's have increased and the lack of obtaining gainful employment after their transition from military to civilian life has complicated matters even more.
