Introduction: Dan Schwartz is a Minneapolis musician who makes soulful music on the harp guitar and lap steel.
Starting at the very beginning, his dad’s interest in The Grand Ole Opry and his mom’s fondness for American Bandstand immersed Dan Schwartz in a wide variety of great music. This influence resonates in the range of music he composes, records and performs today in his solo work and with group: The Neighborhood Trio. Dan has written and released nine CDs and has been featured on several internationally released acoustic guitar compilations including Narada Records Masters of Acoustic Guitar. His recordings have earned him a nomination for guitarists of the year (Minnesota Music Academy) and local Folk/roots album of the year (Mpls. St Paul Magazine). He has a new solo CD in the works – a collection of finger-style guitar tunes played on harp guitar and acoustic lap steel, to be released in early 2018.

Dan Schwartz recently provided music for our wedding. We had about 80 adult guests at the Bachelor Farmer, and Dan's music fit the atmosphere and mood perfectly. He is very versatile, easily transitioning from ceremony to cocktail hour, to playing later in the evening with his group, the Neighborhood Trio. Guest after guest made a point of commenting on how much cooler his music was than the typical wedding DJ or top 40 band, and we couldn't have agreed more!
Dan was also very easy to work with, coordinating directly with the restaurant's event coordinator regarding set-up and other logistics, so we could just relax and enjoy our wedding.
Bottom line: I would HIGHLY recommend Dan to anyone looking for first-rate guitarist!

Bloomington Farmers Market favorite, folk is just a general description for his music. Hints of blues and country come through his warm vocal tone not labeling him in one single genre. Always a pleasure having Dan preform at the market.

Dan Schwartz has been gracious enough to perform for the Minneapolis Music in the Parks series at a few different venues. Each time, he brings his excellent musicianship and professionalism to the gig. He connects with the audience and always provides a wonderful performance. He's a fan favorite, and we can't wait to have him back year after year!

Dan played for my wedding and I can’t say enough great things. I let him pick music since I was busy enough and it was a lot of fun. I would recommend him to everyone.

My husband and I could thank Dan enough for making our wedding everything I imagined and more. We found so much meaning in the songs we choose and he really made them come to life so beautifully! We've received so many compliments about how wonderful the music was. I definitely recommend Dan and his talents for any occasion. Dan is easy to work with and very genuine.
