Introduction: I teach by painting right alongside my students, a continuous demonstration. I teach technique, showing my students how to make paint create an illusion on canvas. I like to teach in 3 hour increments of time. I'm happy to teach complete beginners or people with varied experience. We start each painting with an underpainting of burnt umber washes to establish lights and darks, and then begin with luscious color! I've taught for 20 years, all ages, from 16 to 75! I just love teaching! I've had great mentors, and i want to pass along all the good things that they shared with me.

Polly is a fabulous classic realism painter who specializes in depression & post depression era subject matter. She loves old cars, interesting people, and lush still life arrangements. Polly does breathtakingly beautiful consignment work; particularly portraiture.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If the student is a complete beginner and has no equipment, there is a moderate charge for me to furnish paint, canvas, brushes, etc.. I generally charge $180.00 for six 3-hour sessions.
