- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I look at my business with the mindset of "how would I like others to treat me?" So I don't do things like bid low and then raise the price. If I set a number, than I will do all that I can to finish the job (understanding that a change in what you want could change the price). I have to admit, there have been jobs that I missed something big, but I gave my word, so I finished it losing money. It is more important to me to do right by others than to make money. The money will follow.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was a kid I would play with the wood blocks on the job site. Then we did the yard work and landscape. Over time I have done full house framing, siding, roofing, etc.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
This is a hard one for me because I work with a wide range of people. There aren't too many people I can't get along with.
