- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started as an apprentice in high school, working under a master carpenter. While doing my apprenticeship, I also worked as a customer service rep and sales rep. I attended Business college at LDSBC in Salt Lake City UT and continued to work as a customer service/sales representative. I decided to take a significant pay cut to pursue a career in law enforcement. My wife and I moved to the Bear Lake Valley, where I was hired on as a Police Officer for Montpelier Police Department. During my career as an Officer, my wife and I built our first house together. After finishing our house, I decided to work on other projects in my spare time in order to make some extra money. After a few years of working full time as an officer, as well as a contractor, I decided to retire from law enforcement and focus solely on construction. In 2015 I started Budge Construction Co. Being a Contractor, has been extremely rewarding and I enjoy spending everyday, doing the work that I love!
