What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All apartments, condos and homes start at $300 Up to 2500 square feet. Radon testing with report is $100. Energy-efficient audits run $75 and up with IR pictures. Our prices are very fair for a certified inspector with a current detailed report that same day.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to verify all information for an accurate inspection report. I have no problem of the customer being at the Inspection asking questions. I will send over a pre-inspection agreement before the actual inspection and go over any questions and concerns the customer may have at any time even well after there Inspection.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a real certification through ICA (inspection certification associates) that is a professional real estate inspection certification program. I have 15 yrs general inspecting and I am a member of ASHI the top home inspections association around.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked as a commercial general mechanical tech for 15yrs. I have a sharp eye for detail noticing incorrect things and safety concerns. I top it off knowing about great customer service so it was a natural decision.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All kinds from realtors, new home and small buisness owners, even insurance companys
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was helping a single mother with her first home and there were some safety issues I made clear about. I got her in touch with a contractor to get this corrected so she and her kids would feel assured they were in a safe home.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure they are certified up to date and insured. If they are a lot lower priced then average company's then why is that and are you getting what you paid for?
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Lower price isn't always good in this profession. Average home inspections that are certified and well trained start at 350 these days. There are a lot of non-certified inspectors out there charging way less. Most home inspections should take at least 2hrs minimum so make sure you choose right for your future big purchase.
