FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My initial consultation is $50. This is a bargain because gathering and assessing all of the information takes some time but I prefer only to charge for the hours I actually spend with the student not my homework time. I Charge $30 an hour for one on one tutoring time, but if you want small group tutoring the cost will only go up by $10 per student, making individual prices less. I prefer to be paid on a weekly basis, but If you would like a different pay schedule I am willing to negotiate when I get paid.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will meet with both the parent(s) and student to determine subject areas the student is struggling with. This may include administering a test to see what level the student is at so we can find a solid starting point and determine success later on. Then with parental permission schedule to meet the students teacher either in person, on line, or by telephone to find ways I can give the student support for what he or she is working on in his or her classroom. Using the information I gather I will present a plan of action to the student and parent and maybe give the parent ideas of how they can easily help and be involved with their child's success. From there, the student parent and me can decide on a tutoring schedule, hours and times.
