FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $150/hour for pen/paper drawings and $200 for digital drawings with prints or emailed images. In Manhattan I have a one hour minimum and outside of Manhattan there is a 2-hour minimum. If r/t travel time is over 2 hours and/or $20 from my studio there is a fee to cover the additional time and expense.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Events: I need to know the When and Where and I will show up 15 minutes in advance and start cleaning up at the end of the scheduled time unless you request overtime. Overtime is available in 30 minute increments. Tips are great, but I don't expect them when you book directly through me. How does the process work? You say I’m hired. You provide the job details. I send you an invoice with all of the details. You send me a deposit using Venmo, PayPal, Cash, etc. I save the date. I show up on time and you pay the balance in cash or digital after an amazing night. All of your friends hire me. We both live happily ever after! Lessons: It's great to know the objective of the student(s). We can work towards a goal (graphic novel, comic book) or a discipline (life drawing, watercolor) or building blocks and exploring styles.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a BA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I have been drawing caricatures since 2004.
