We got engaged and married in a month, so I understand that it was out of the norm for vendors to be hired a month before the wedding. Regardless, after booking Piper, we never had a follow up to make sure we received the invoice. We spent two weeks trying to get ahold of her to make the initial deposit. She claimed that she was having trouble with her email, but she also didn't respond to any of the daily phone calls my mother and I made. We finally had to go with a family friend to bake our cake to guarantee we would have one.
