About this pro
John has been fantastic — he’s done several projects for us and they have each turned out really well. He’s been doing this for quite a while now and always seems able to bring in skilled professionals at a moments notice, no matter the job. We live in a 19th century house with a lot of projects left to do, and we definitely hope to continue working with him.Apr 3, 2018Verified
I found John Ashby, the owner, to be dishonest and manipulative. They understaffed the job, did poor finish work on the concrete, left out obvious parts of the work, and then tried to charge me more at the end of the job.Mar 22, 2018VerifiedJohn A.'s reply
It’s sad...when Jerry Rechtenbach asked for perfection, but didn’t want to pay for it. Worked for this guy in the winter time on this outside concrete project. Also help him order his door, but he didn’t want to pay for things I didn’t bid, but he thought I should do anyway. Also redesigned this project for him. Some people you can not please no matter how hard you try. We were 10k for the job and he had another bid from someone else for 20k. I’m sure if you saw the project you would like the work. Most of my work is on bigger projects. I was doing this guy a favor. Lesson learned

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I like to look at the project before giving out prices, others give you a low bid and add on extras once they see the project or when they are done.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I Look Over the project with the owner and get the best game plan for both of us.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have had on the job training for 20+ years
