Robin is wonderful! She gave me great strategies to help my dog learn to use his crate. She knows a lot about dogs and gives you a lot of support in modifying whatever behavior you're working on. She also offers support over the phone afterwards, which is helpful when you're working with your dog after she leaves. Highly recommend!Nov 29, 2018Verified

Robin was excellent with my two puppies. She was available when I was having any ongoing problems and was reachable by text in between sessions if I needed any adviceSep 21, 2017VerifiedDiamonds in the Ruff's reply
Thank you and the boys look so innocent and cute!!
Robin was so patient with ME and made me feel very comfortable about not knowing exactly how to train/ control my new pupNov 23, 2018VerifiedDiamonds in the Ruff's reply

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I start all my new clients with an extensive interview process. I need to know about the owner and family, their dog, their goals, their concerns and answer any questions that they might have about the training.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started training over 25 years ago when all trainers used the traditional method of training. It incorporated a lot of punishment to get the dogs to comply. I apprenticed for 4 years with a dog trainer named Mike Schultz who was very experienced in the field having trained many working dogs for 30 years. After I felt I could go out on my own, I opened a dog training/ grooming/ boarding facility and ran that for 15 years. I decided back some years ago to learn the new technique (positive training) and attended many seminars and webinars to get a good grasp on the concepts. I attended Catch Acadamy to further my skills and was assessed by their mentor. I continue to attend many seminars and webinars to keep my skills current. I have taken and passed a very comprehensive test put out by the only entity that certifies dog trainers. I can now carry the title of certified professional dog trainer knowledge assessed (CPDT-KA) This title is held by only 2000 trainers world wide! Check out my credentials at ccpdt.com.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have owned dogs ever since I can remember and I am a true animal lover. I am so in awe of the way animals can communicate with another species and how they do it so well! What better way to make a living than doing something you truly love doing!
