What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You will receive a pre-session questionnaire to complete that will help me design the perfect session just for you. This includes questions like: What does your pet really love to do? Where do they love to sit or play or walk? What are their favorite toys? Do you want to be in the images? I will factor all these considerations into your personalized quote which will be prepared within 24 hours of your initial consultation. I specialize in candid images of your pet in a natural environment, whether it's lounging on a leather sofa, digging in the garden, or running free across fields. We will work together to choose the location(s) that best suit(s) the personality of your pet and the look and feel you want to create. If you would like outdoor shots but don't have the space, I can arrange a private location. Outdoor sessions are best undertaken at the beginning of the day or late in the afternoon, to capture the best of the natural available light, but of course are subject to weather conditions. Alternatively, if you are looking for something more formal, I can bring our mini-studio to you and create portraits against a backdrop of your choice. These can be done at any time of day, whatever the weather. Our prime consideration when choosing any location is your pet's safety and comfort. Next comes the boring part of signing a standard contract and paying a deposit, then we agree the date and off we go!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had a lifelong passion for photography and pets and upon relocating to the USA last year decided to combine the two and make them my career! Primarily a self taught photographer since I was in my teens, I have also attended numerous photography workshops with Nikon, Foundry Photojournalism Workshop, and CUNY/New York Times; I have even undertaken animal communication classes! I worked as a documentary and lifestyle photographer in Asia and Europe for 10 years prior to moving to the USA and my work has been published in a broad range of media including The New York Times, International New York Times, The Telegraph (UK), The Guardian (UK) and People Magazine. It has also featured in major photo festivals and exhibitions around the world. I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society, National Association of Press Photographers, American Photographic Artists, and a regular contributor to Barcroft Images/Getty (international photo news agency).

What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many pet parents and animal lovers who simply want to capture images of their furry friends for fun, or for a special event, like a new arrival in the family, or a Holiday card. I have also worked with many international animal charities around the world to help raise awareness of their organizations.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I always love photographing shelter dogs who are looking for their forever home. The pure joy they exude is priceless and of course I want to take each and every one of them home! There is no greater satisfaction than hearing they have been adopted after some of your images of them have been socialized.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
My advice to puppy parents looking to hire a photographer would be to think: why do you want to make these images and what do you want them to achieve? I would also recommend that they look at the photographer's website to see which images that they like, and of course, those they don't like. I ask these questions and more in my pre-session questionnaire which is aimed at getting the pet parent thinking about the session in advance, and gives me an insight into the relationship between them and their pet and their objectives.
