FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is typically a complementary coaching and information session to make sure that coach and client both understand expectations and that their communication styles are compatible. If both are interested in proceeding, then a coaching agreement is executed. The coaching agreement will cover things like pricing; number, length, and frequency of sessions; and delivery (ie. face to face, Skype, or phone). The sessions will always have a goal and there may be tools or homework depending on the preferences of the client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am accredited through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). To obtain this accreditation I graduated from a licensed coaching school, passed an ICF exam and agreed to be bound by ICF's code of ethics.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I worked in management for several different companies for over 20 years and was heading up an HR department when I realized that I wanted to do something different and more fulfilling. After reflecting on what I had liked and disliked about my jobs over the years it became clear that I had thrived on mentoring and coaching people. I had been naturally doing this since the beginning of my career as a byproduct of my other positions. A little research into careers that utilized my strengths and interests led me to coaching. I knew very little about coaching at the time but it turned out to be a perfect fit and I have never been more fulfilled.
