Introduction: Decorating Den Interiors is the premier in-home decorating service in Connecticut. I have personally been designing for over thirty years and feel truly blessed to be able to help others live their best lives. Good design helps you live your best life. Function and organization are the building blocks of good design. I find out how you live and how you want to live then we work together to make your home a true reflection of how you really want to live. Your initial consultation is complimentary with absolutely no obligation so you can decide if working with an Interior Designer is for you. My clients tell me that our initial consultation has the effect of a " huge weight lifted" from their shoulders. I absolutely love that I am able to help unburden my clients in this way. I enjoy just about every aspect of being a Designer. I love meeting my clients for the first time and really getting to know them. Making our way through the design process together builds strong and thoughtful relationships. I feel very lucky to be able to get to know my clients so well, their daily challenges and their daily joys in life, what really matters to them. When I return with their design boards and their home redesigned on the computer for them so they can really experience it before they embrace it, I find that there is this great sense of relief for them , this weight lifted for them. The big reveal, for me, is the best day , it's the reward when it all comes together. There is always great joy and appreciation for what good design can do for your life and everyday living.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our initial consultation for new clients is always complimentary. We come to you to see what it is that you would like to achieve, and how we might help you. It is our great pleasure to get to know you and how you like to live. We believe that your home should be a reflection of you, how you want to live and feel in your space. We are able to collaborate with you to set the parameters of the project and what you would like to invest in your home on the initial consultation and see if we would be a good fit. We come to you always. Our clients tell us it's a very fun and rewarding experience and we take great pride in that.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I love decorating and design, I always have! I earned my Bachelors degree in Interior Design and Architecture and have been in the design business for over 29 years. I attend High Point Market and conference every year to see and absorb the new trends and materials. The design field is always growing and changing. I am a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council and keep up with what is safe for your home and the environment. I feel it is very important to give you fabulous and functional design that is healthy for you too!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first fell in love with Interior Design in the third grade. When I was just 8 or 9 my mom had hired an Interior Designer to help design our new home which had a very unique floor plan. Watching our home change and grow into this beautiful living space had really impressed this young kid. I've had the decorating bug ever since.I was rearranging my room, collecting all kinds of objects and furnishings and forever changing my decor. It wasn't long after that I was helping others with their spaces and I still am.
