Introduction: I work from photographs and begin by doing reference sketches to determine lighting and value. I then transfer my sketch onto 140 lb. Windsor & Newton or Arches paper and paint with Windsor & Newton and Schmincke paints. I make sure you are 100% satisfied with the final piece and happily incorporate your suggestions and alterations. I have several clients who return to me annually with a new portrait ideas (new baby, new pet, new wedding photo, vintage photograph, etc.) to create a one-of-a-kind gift or family heirloom.

My friend had this artist paint my favorite picture of my grandfather, who had recently passed away, as a birthday gift. He was my world. The artist brought a tiny black and white photo that I have always loved to life with full color. It brought me to tears as soon as I opened it. I framed it and hung it up and haven't stopped staring at it since. I have seen another painting they did for a friend based on my referral and it was also excellent. Serious quality work that will make an absolutely priceless gift.

What a masterpiece!! This painting was done from a picture taken of me, my husband & our beloved fur babies. Our boy dog had just been diagnosed with cancer & we were taking him to his favorite place. The painting perfectly captures the love we have for our little family. The artist was even able to make some subtle changes that enhanced the painting. My husband & I are so grateful to have this beautiful painting as a lasting memory of our sweet family. Quoted price includes a custom cut double mat in your choice of colors. After the painting is complete you will also have the option to purchase additional prints. These are high quality giclee prints that use colors and materials true to the original painting.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
There was a tiny black and white photo of a man that was commissioned as a gift for his granddaughter after he had passed away. I painted it in vibrant color on a large canvas, bringing new life to the vintage picture. The recipient’s overwhelming emotion after receiving the painting was very touching to me, and I was honored to bring her such joy. Creating a painting from a photos takes approximately two weeks.
