- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is very different depending on the nature of the project. Simple proofreading would begin at $1.50 for 250 words; copy editing would begin at $2.50 for 250 words. Transcribing would be approximately $1.25 per page (depending on quality of audio and specifications of the text). Blog writing or other content writing: $30 per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would want to chat with each customer to fully understand the scope of the project and the vision they have for their business or endeavor. I think it is important to know a little bit about the person behind the job--not just the job itself.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in English and Master's degree in Education. I worked in Public Relations for four years, writing articles, newsletters, press releases, etc. I have been a teacher/reading specialist for 25 years, and have continued to write and edit a variety of materials throughout this time.
